(Old snapshot — WindLight making a scene out of everything on minimum-requirements PC. Will post fresh new snapshots tomorrow when I get a chance to tweak with it on my awesome 2nd PC
)
WindLight’s back!!! The awesome one-of-a-kind rendering system that everyone loves! Plus, if I can get professional C# programming by the time I finish school, and the viewer will have all parts exposed in source code, you might see a little planned project I call “Second Life NexGen©”
.
And, my minimum requirements PC is having tons of issues with it! Really, the first version ran faster
for some reason. WindLight draws me down to a steep 1.x frame rate, after being in a 7-10 frame rate environment. Freaky. Still, i’ll test it on my 2nd PC, which I will be able to use tomorrow. The graphics card is much better in high-end stuff, unless Linden didn’t fix the problem with Nvidia QuickCache©. I got a SL-XXXXX tag for it, but they said it’s “suspended”
. I gotta get a iMac already! I mean, it’s got HD graphics, Mac OS X Leopard, and it’s a super-thin all-in-monitor product!..
I hope OpenSim will soon have a compatible server version… I can’t wait to test it on my own realm!
. Oh yes, i’ve started to use the name Realm instead of Region ever since I started playing World of Warcraft… By the way, i’m installing a private server on my PC to help fellow suffering Israelis and to play “single player”.

ANYWAY… I found a little inworld browser you could use, very much like the OnRez viewer’s internal browser! You can enter it by enabling the Debug menus (Ctrl + Alt + D or Ctrl + Shift + Alt + D, on PCs), then going to Client, UI, and then by selecting SLURL Test. Awesome, huh? Now, browse to your liking! Just remember it does not support Adobe Shockwave, Adobe Flash, and any other plugins. Still, it uses the zoom-fast Gecko-powered Mozilla engine! Meaning, you will browse about half the time Internet Explorer takes to load a page.
