Drastic performance improvements suggested by Smiley

After playing World of Warcraft (my blog post) for god knows how long, I have a few ideas to use for Second Life that worked awesome in World of Warcraft, and can be integrated into the Second Life client with a maximum of 1 month First Look testing:

  1.  Make physics calculations both-ways to reduce lag inconvinienceA proposal to make the client calculate physics as well to stop the inconvenience in lag currently experienced. Vote for it, it’s a must.
  2. Reverse moment procedure to allow normal movement during lagThis needs the above proposal to be completed to be done, but is very handy. Instead of sending your arrow key press to the server and wait for it to process, resulting in delay, the client could calculate the physics and send movements as well.

None more at the moment, but keep this on your favorites list and check often for more proposals.

P.S.: Did you notice the new “disabled” Noob Camp tab? *points towards tabs row*
