Kathy, I meant the current installation, not dust on the computer itself or parts wearing out. I mean, that if I backup, format, reinstall, restore, and use again with the exact same resources, the computer will function as good as new. And, sorry for not "phrasing my argument coherently", my English level is non-native, non-university professional and consists of the American version of English and only several parts of british English, y'know :P .

I love how the vast majority of your arguments are completely disconnected from what you're trying to argue.

And I have proof that OS X installs "collect mould" as well - my old PPC mac is near unusable, despite there having been no change.

Please phrase your argument coherently next time. This goes for the "SLart" post as well, which I was writing a response too before I decided I'd just be ignored anyway.

Kathy, the Power Tools I use have no way to harm Windows in how harmed it is now, and, proved by experiments, the more you use Windows, the more it harms itself, or simply put, the installation "collects mold". (I say mold because dust you can clean easily in a second, while mold requires some biological engineering to clean it and its remains, and takes longer :P .) I can testify for this, as my other PC which has almost NOTHING in software, takes much longer to display the desktop than before.

Oh and I forgot to mention, the Power Tools I use are not software that embed into Windows, they simply flip a switch in the Registry. Not like the others I saw in Microsoft's website.

<blockquote>
Smiley Barry
Official tweak tools. (or how they call it, “power tools”)
</blockquote>

You do realise those tools are unsupported and may break stuff? It says so fairly clearly on the appropriate webpages.

I think you'll find it equally easy to find tools to break a mac. :P

@Alex: Yeah, sounds reasonable you didn't run into any of them, you use a Mac, the friendly type of computers :) . And, thanks for reading the posts here! I'm kinda lacking readers and commenters, can you refer the blog to some friends? Thanks in advance :) .

P.S.: Have a Habbo account? I can't use Second Life, so Habbo currently supplies my "daily fix". I'm ShadowTSL there :) .

Hey Smiley - Man, do I feel for ya. I've been a pretty die-hard Mac fanatic for a few years now. Currently running SL on a first-gen MacBook Pro (the one with the ATA video card, not the NVIDIA 9600) and on a wireless network (they say SL is not optimized for this, but with Airport and a good cable connection, I have no trouble streaming music and running SL with voice on two other comps--all wireless). I get framerates of about 20-35 fps regularly, though in heavy traffic, near lots of bad scripts, and/or with a lot of avs nearby, it can quickly drop. I often think about getting a high-end pc with a fancy SL-optimized graphics card, but only because the Mac Pro desktop that I covet is wayyyy out of my price range.

But I NEVER have any of the problems you describe. The only glitches I encounter are SL crashes that are due to the viewer programming and not the OS (I'm running 10.4.11 atm). Any time you want to compare notes or write about your half-mac or new Mac, I'll be reading.

Great rant.
