The (Habbo) Experience

After looking in the net for a few fun stuff, outside my regular “work-day” hours, I came about this nice old Habbo tutorial, and a music player containing the music from it and other, but, in low-quality. :???: Here they are, and, i’ve contacted the developers of the site who hosts the player, called HabboRing.com, to send me the music files. I kinda like those 8-bit music tracks, and when I get my iPhone, I may use the “Experience” track as my ringtone! :D I couldn’t embed the tutorial due to some code issues, so I placed a link here. I finished the layout for Second Lounge! Sort of…

If you read my blog “daily”, you should know I announced Second Lounge as a future DuoGrid web service to launch in the first quarter of 2008 (hopefully), and currently, I got a very nice layout done! It’s not entirely my work, and I got it off someone that ripped it off Habbo UK, but if I remove logos and copyright text i’m out of danger. Copyright doesn’t involve HTML designs, of course production code is involved, but i’m going to use my own code.

I found this while looking for a Habbo retro running release 18 to power up my virtual pixelated city (that will be released as a pack when done)… I’m currently using release 13, and it sucks! :???: Custom content can’t be installed properly, and game files have to be hosted, so i’m looking for an Israeli server, so I won’t have any internet issues at all.

Oh, and, Vint, if all goes well, I may make a certain room have a certain non-playable character representing a certain Second Life resident I know :D .

Habbo Revamped

UPDATE: Ha, apparently Habbo USA just upgraded its looks as well. I might move back if they trigger the “FREE Furni per day on Xmas!” promotion…

I just noticed the Habbo USA uses the old homepage that no other Habbo Hotels use any longer. See for yourself (Habbo USA , Habbo UK , Habbo Finland [First hotel]). The new intro really gets you into the idea of joining, plus its fun to watch over and over and over…

About the revamping thing, the new hotel sites use a much cleaner page that (tested) takes less resources to display, render, and load on Firefox, Internet Explorer, and (possibly) Safari. Plus, they have all-new hairstyles (new ones, that is), glasses, hats, facial hair, belts, and a wider selection of shirt, pants, and shoe colors. If Habbo UK will work faster than Habbo USA (due to real geographical location), and Habbo USA won’t update, I may move! I will lose my current (3 lousy) coins, furniture, and friends :???: . On second thought, i’ll stay on Habbo USA for now and Habbo UK…

Here’s a little comparison between my Habbos on the two hotels (left is US, right is UK):

VS.

So, do I look cooler in Habbo UK or what??? Oh, and did I mention their price of Habbo Club is 20 coins a month instead of the regular 30 on other hotels??? Wacky! Plus, their Habbo Club program has the 4 other dance moves that others don’t…

Oh, and here’s the new intro if you wanna see. Stay a little longer before hitting “START VIDEO” to see some sample Habbos (that are REAL! It picks them randomly):

Comparison of “OpenSims”

I have been around the net, looking for “open simulators”, other than the one for Second Life. I found one for World of Warcraft, and one even for Habbo Hotel. Both run very smoothly, especially the World of Warcraft one even with up to 10 people, while playing. Both do basically nothing, but save variables. The World of Warcraft “Ascent” server only saves locations, calculates damage, and sends other objects’ (monsters, players, NPCs [non-playable characters]… etc.) locations and stats. People’s clients do all the physical thinking. Second Life should get that :P .

The Habbo Hotel “Debbo” server, works pretty nicely, and is VERY stable. I’m building a sky city in there, and a single-player mode called “Habbo Hotel: Living in the Metaverse” (Sorry, Dan! :???: ), though the quests part is kinda tricky.

In the end, I see OpenSim still hasn’t reached a nice landmark where it can be used with up to 3,000 people per-realm like the World of Warcraft Ascent server can :???: . Linden should REALLY release the code, or at least optimize it further. Now with Havok 4, they can make regions much bigger, even increase their size by their current size! (current * current = current2). I still haven’t got to that part where i’ll take photos from WoW for my blog logo and Flickr, but I will, soon…

Oh, and did I mention i’m setting up a World of Warcraft server for Israeli players? You’d have to apply for membership though. Sorry! (Plus, no addicted 24-hours-gaming-per-day gamers!).

Neato Habbo Hotel Trax promotion I thought you should see

A very nice flash movie, watched it about 10 times in a row… I gotta find a way to get that “song” as my ringtone… ;)

Virtual Vacation in Habbo Hotel

Me, in Habbo Hotel :-)Lately, I was alot of time in my dad’s house, and his computer’s graphics card doesn’t play along with Second Life, for some reason. So, I decided to (re)check out a “pixelated” world with a 2D view and graphics. It requires only the Adobe Shockwave Player, so it was very simple to start. I signed up (you can customize your character human as you’d like), and *BAM* i’m online in 10 minutes. One thing thought, i’m named ShadowTSL in there, instead of the very-often-used SmileyTSL. I took both, but this time I wanted to be my “other persona”. After going around this teen-oriented community, I created my room(s), and started looking around the hotel for free stuff, like any other noob. I won some games, used my complimentary coins, and here I am. I made some friends in there, and it’s pretty fun. Great when I can’t access Second Life or There.com . (That person on the right is me in Habbo Hotel :) )

Updates: The Shadow Halloween Quest, fixed computer, and more.

Well, Ivory fixed it in a jiffy, the same day I gave them the computer. We didn’t mention it was caused due to “wrong usage” (me accidentally flipping the volts switch when connecting wires), so we had no problems ;) . They would require payment if they knew about it, so, we didn’t tell ‘em, lol.

I’ll start working on the quest this Sunday, so there’s currently no ETA. I thought about making this an interactive quest too, meaning you’ll need to go inworld every once in a while, so i’m now looking for help regarding the Main Grid. I’ll try sending Linden Lab an email requesting permission for a few days, on a complete-PG simulator. 90% they say no, but lets give it a shot ;) .

Do note if you help me you won’t be able to get anything if you win the quest, though. Sorry :???: .

Another update is me gone from Teen Second Life to Habbo Hotel for a while. Do note the post is underway, just that Habbo USA is having an approximate level of 100% packet loss maximum, thanks to a few in-USA server tests. Tested Second Life too, and they have about 10%, so it’s not just me ;) . VintFalken.com, though, has nothing :) .
