Troy McConaghy’s Holo-Emitter posted on the DuoGrid Website

Well, i’m finally done. *PHEW!* I wikified the entire documentation and code of Troy McConaghy’s Holo-Emitter, that is the first DuoGrid Shared Asset, as mentioned earlier. It took me a lot of time, but it was worth it. So, who’s first??? ;) .

WordPress 2.3 Released — Woot!

[Update @ 3:06AM SLT: Eh, on second thought, i’ll do this later!]

As previously announced on the WordPress official development blog, WordPress 2.3 is released, and will soon be deployed on my blog ;) . The release holds some awesome features, including tagging posts in addition to categories, canonical URLs — who fix corrected post “slugs” (the pretty URLs you see on your address bar on 99% of WordPress blogs), broken or cut-off emailed links, and more, and a fix of the WYSIWYG system, used to write posts online, that is much similar to office software, like “Microsoft Word”, “Open Office: Write”, and more.

Two more features which I have not mentioned due to un-needing-ness, is the new “Pending Review” function that helps crew-operated blogs, like the Official Linden Blog, where there is at least 1 editor that checks posts before posting them to the world, and the “Update Notification” features, that is very handy in upgrading times, which hardly occur. It sends your entire system data “log”, to api.wordpress.com , which then checks your configuration against the plugins database for compatibility with the new version.

One thing i’m afraid of, is the compatibility of my activated plugins and styles, with WordPress 2.3 . Really freaky and “scary” O.O .

Well, i’m gonna start the upgrade soon to 2.3 . At 1:10PM GMT+2 (3:10AM SLT), i’ll start the upgrade. Should take a minute or so ;) .

Going On Family Vacation for 4 Days, Cya Later!

Hey readers,

Tomorrow (Sep 23rd), right in the morning, i’ll be flying (for 45 minutes instead of 5 hours driving by car ;) ) to Eilat for a family vacation :D . Of course, i’ll be carrying my mylo for IMs, web browsing, and more. If you’d like to add me to your Yahoo! or Skype buddy list, gimme a shout by email.

I’ll try and blog about stuff while there, but unlike the US and other countries, we don’t have a Wi-Fi signal every 100 meters! X.X .

And like in the last post, no leaving the post without commenting! >:O .

What’s Been Keeping Me Busy… “He Still Watches”

Through a trailer made in Second Life, I found out about an online novel called “He Still Watches”. It’s a horror story written by Dale A. Moses, very frightening and intriguing… Can’t keep my eyes off the “book”, hehe… Currently it’s a “First Draft”, but Dale said once it’s done, it’ll be published to a real book. Guess who’s gonna order online once it’s out? :D .

Xenon Projects — Service Outage Announcement

[Update @ Sep. 22nd 10:32AM SLT: All reopened! Enjoy!]

Hello,

From today, September 21st, and until tomorrow, September 22nd, the Jewish “Yom Kippur” (”Judgement Day”) will be ongoing, making most Xenon Projects-run services out-of-service. In the next half hour, all Xenon services will be closed down for today and tomorrow, including but not limited to, DuoGrid, discussions.duogrid.com (also known as DuoGrid Discussions), SL Talk, and more.

For people beta testing the closed, hidden, AlphaLife, it will be closed as well. Sorry for any inconvenience, and sorry for anything bad i’ve done to you! ;) .

In addition, on the Teen Grid, my avie will be dressed appropriately (dressed in black and dark clothes). Although Xenon-run projects will be closed, this blog will stay online ;) .

“Safety in Second Life” — New Podcast

Heya readers, after seeing a new TV program called “Someone Somebody Is Following Watching You”, it amazed me like, well, hell O.O .

I will be starting a new Podcast to address the safety in SL, so people will know what they’re up against in the 21st century ‘^_^ . Did you know you can have your entire life biography placed on someone’s desk in 4-6 hours, if you give them your phone number? ID number? Name? O.O . In addition, the “Internet Standard” has been broken “so-last-year”.

Commencing Local Rolling Restart… Rofl.

Well, apparently ‘Rolling Restarts’ have hit me too. On a network with 3 computers inter-connected to inter-services, sometime rolling restarts HELP! Haha.

This is done to fix my packet loss issues with Second Life  . Because apparently, everything else that uses rendering and bandwidth works O.K.! . In addition, i’m finally using that “Intel Core Duo” processor’s real purpose — two cores!. I’m putting everything on one, while SL takes the other ;) .

Hope this fixes it, or 012 are going to get yelled at. I pay (well, not me, but you get the idea ‘^_^) them approx. 70-80NIS a month for 1.5MB, and I lose 200%+ of packets?!?!. Jeez (Yeah, Jeez is the ‘Jesus’ verbal expression for non-Christians ;) ).

Troy McConaghy’s Open Source Holo-Emitter — The First DuoGrid Shared Asset! Woot!

Woot! After seeing Troy McConaghy’s Open Source Holo-Emitter that is sim-wide, I thought “I (and we) gotta have that”. But of course, it was “Main Grid-only”. Which is what this project is for! (DuoGrid) :D . So, email –> request –> *click* –> approved! :D . In a few moments i’ll post it to DuoGrid, so all can enjoy it without having to scout the web hehe.

Which reminds me. Do you have any open-source (or free) objects? Would you consider to post them to DuoGrid? If so, feel free to contact me at Smiley@DuoGrid.com. We accept TG-13 rated objects that are “licensed” (e.g.: You made the script/object/co-wrote it and the other co-writers agree to post it) properly.

Folklore — The Most Awesome Game of the Most Awesome Games!

If you don’t already know, I got a PS3 :D . And the most awesome demo I play again and again (15 times to-date) is Folklore :D :D :D . The most awesome of games ever to set foot in the domain of High Definition games. Or in 2 words — kick ass!. The game is about two strangers, Ellen and Keath, “visiting” two Netherworlds named Faeryrealm and Warcadia. They later on appear to “switch worlds” as we see them in each other’s beginner world in several screenshots ‘^_^.

HELLO, NEW iMac!

For ages i’ve hated Windows due to its complexity and “get-broken-ness” (Did you know the more time Windows is running the more it gets damaged?!?!). So, in a few months, maybe 6 >.> i’ll have enough for a new iMac with WiFi, Bluetooth, etc.! :D .
